As members of the UNYSQI and participants in the Collaborative program, hospitals agree to collect comprehensive data, to demonstrate that reports generated from the ACS NSQIP data are used in QI efforts and to require that physicians and hospital staff actively participate in those activities. In addition, there is the requirement to report aggregate impact of the QI activities and to make good-faith efforts to incorporate self-assessments and learning about optimal practices into their processes of care. Hospitals also commit to attending the quarterly meetings of the UNYSQI, cooperate with data quality audits and substantively participate in CQI efforts.
